Why CampusGPS?

Guiding Students & Families

The transition from high school to college, or from high school to life after high school, is one of the most highly anticipated transitions in a young adult's life. Not only are students moving from a structured, familiar learning environment into the unknown, but they also get to choose what comes next. This is the first truly significant decision they will make in their adult life. Although highly anticipated and an exciting time, coming after high school, the decision and the steps that follow can be daunting for a newly independent adult.

This time is a critical developmental milestone in a young person’s life. While the step from high school to college, vocational school, or work may seem like one big step, we know that the transition to college is not like flipping a switch from one thing to the next. This transition is an ongoing process for students and their families. The transition to college does not begin on move-in day, the first day of class, or even the day a student chooses their next step; it starts well before any of these decisions are made. Students experience frequent transitions and can be well-prepared to handle each challenge or change with the skills and preparation needed for life beyond high school.

CampusGPS aims to serve students and their parents throughout the transition from high school to college and beyond. We focus on all steps of the transition process (evaluating college fit, skills for success, and physical transition readiness). Offering continuous, personalized, and collaborative support to students and their parents. CampusGPS focuses on using research-backed, evidence-based approaches to develop skills across a multitude of areas, enhancing student confidence and independence. Creating ongoing opportunities for students and families to increase confidence with individualized support from experienced professionals, with the family's best interest at the forefront of their work, is critical to who we are and how CampusGPS operates.

We recognize that the transition to life outside of high school is a complex, developmental process that impacts numerous aspects of a student's life.

The transition to adulthood challenges various domains, including academics, social relationships, independent living, physical, emotional, and mental well-being, as well as adaptation to institutional or workplace settings.

CampusGPS serves a vital role in a student's life, promoting success after high school and providing ongoing, research-informed guidance to both students and their families. Our model of wraparound support is vital in a time when retention and engagement are pressing concerns in higher education.
