Clemson offers two distinct programs for students with learning differences and intellectual disabilities.
Offers a collegiate experience that prepares young men and women with intellectual disabilities for competitive employment and independent living through a combination of academic coursework and career exploration. The program is designed for students who desire a post-secondary experience on a college campus.
The program incorporates functional academics, independent living, employment, and social/leisure skills in a public university setting with the goal of producing self-sufficient young adults.
The Spectrum Program (CUSP) provides individualized services beyond standard accommodations for autistic and other neurodivergent students.
The program works on the following areas:
- Academic Skills and Resilience
- Personal and Interpersonal Skills
- Career and Professional Development Skills
- Independent Living and Social Skills
There is also a summer program option for incoming freshmen, allowing an elongated transition period for Spectrum Program Students.
A separate application is required in addition to your Admissions application.
